Four people talk about working from home

Working from home: benefits, challenges and advice

Maya

I started working from home two years ago and, honestly, I was enthusiastic from day one. The biggest advantage is time: I don’t waste an hour on buses, so I can go for a run before work and still start on time. I also feel I concentrate better without office noise. That said, I was surprised by how quickly the days can blur together. If I don’t plan breaks, I end up staring at a screen for too long and feeling exhausted. My solution is simple: I get dressed as if I’m going out, I work in the same corner of the flat, and I stop at a fixed time. I’d recommend having short video calls rather than long meetings, because it keeps teamwork friendly without stealing the whole morning.
