What is this question type?

This task tests whether you can write a short, clear message that covers every point. In A2 Key Reading and Writing Part 6, you read a short situation, such as an email from a friend, and write an email or note of 25 words or more. You must answer three points. Simple grammar is fine if your meaning is clear.

Winning Strategy

  1. 1

Read the situation and find the three points you must answer

  2. 2

Write one or two short sentences for each point

  3. 3

Start with a greeting, such as "Hi Sam," and end with a sign-off, such as "See you soon"

  4. 4

Use words from the task to keep on topic, but write the sentences yourself

  5. 5

Count your words and check that all three points are there

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Answering only two of the three points

  • Writing fewer than 25 words

  • Writing a long text and making more mistakes than needed
