Matching

The people below all want to find something. Read the descriptions of eight options. Decide which option would be the most suitable for each person. For questions 1-5, choose the correct letter (A-H).

restaurants in a city

Quiet Courtyard Bistro

A small bistro in a side street right in the city centre. It opens only on weekday evenings and is known for its calm music and soft lighting. Main dishes are mid-priced, and you can usually get a table without waiting. Not suitable for big groups.

Match each person to the best option (A-H)
1Laura

Laura wants a restaurant in the city centre because she is meeting friends after work. She can only go on weekday evenings and prefers a quiet place where they can talk. She would like something mid-priced, not too expensive.

2Sam

Sam is visiting the city by car and needs a restaurant with easy parking nearby. He wants to go on Saturday night and is happy to pay more for good service. He also needs vegetarian options for one person in his group.

3Mina

Mina is looking for a cheap place to eat near the train station because she has only a short break. She needs fast service and would like to finish within 45 minutes. She can go any day, but only at lunchtime.

4Oliver

Oliver wants a family-friendly restaurant for Sunday lunch. He needs a children’s menu and space for a pushchair. He prefers somewhere not too far from the city centre, but not on a noisy street. Prices should be reasonable.

5Chloe

Chloe is planning a birthday dinner and wants a restaurant that takes bookings for a group. She needs to go on Friday evening and would like a lively atmosphere. The restaurant should be central or easy to reach by bus, with mid-range prices.
